Flies (from the Toby Knapp album “Misanthropy Divine”) 2009 Rock it Up Records
I really am pleased with this track but it almost got flushed. I worked for several hours on this song and it kept pissing me off. Everything was wrong with it in my mind; guitar, bass and drum sound, the performance, the production. I have a recording unit where all you have to do is hit the delete button and it's gone forever. I was ready to erase this track when a friend showed up unannounced with a few bottles of Jack Daniel's Whiskey. I decided to have one drinks and the song was shown mercy. I think it's good traditional heavy metal but there's lots of stuff going on in this one; prog, thrash, neoclassical and black metal are all present and vocalist Dean Sternberg did a great job.
